Guest Lecture Weekends at MEST

A very important part of the  MEST training is the Guest Lecture series. The Entrepreneurs-In-Training (EITs), founders in the Meltwater Incubator, fellows, faculty heads and staff get the rare opportunity to listen to presentation of successful entrepreneurs usually drawn from the technology/software indutry. And the exciting bit is, it happens four times a year!! Though it is closed session, not open to the public, interested individuals can follow updates by following the @mestGhana twitter account and accounts of other affiliates. Updates and pictures are shared with the rest of the  world.

During the  guests’ three-day stay, the Mest community gets the  opportunity to know these successful guests better, by through lunch discussions, workshops and sometimes excursions to tourist sites in Ghana. In the  past, the center termed as the tech-hub of Ghana has hosted successful entrepreneurs such as Doug Wilson (Founder of HoundDog), Brian Flynn (Founder of Esplanade), Graham Brown-Martin (Founder of Learning Without Frontiers), Patrick Awuah (President and founder of Ashesi), Ehigozie Benitie (Co-founder of Rancard Mobility)Klaas Kersting (Founder and former CEO of Gameforge) and many other lecturers personalities with impressive profiles . Most of these knowledgeable experts have now become advisers and mentors to the start-ups in the Meltwater Business Incubator.

Today March 2nd and tomorrow March 3rd, Mest will hold its 1st Guest Lectures in 2012. The lecturers expected to mentor the entrepreneurs during this period are Ravi Agarwal, Founder of 2 multi million dollar software companies and Mr. John Hoffmire, Director of Säid Global Entrepreneurship Network, Oxford University.
