Ghana finally gets its own mobile chat application

Saya Mobile, one of the start-ups in the Meltwater Incubator will today offer Ghanaians the opportunity to boast of its own group messaging mobile app. Saya is a mobile application that currently allows java, android and blackberry users to group chat with phone contacts. it’s 1,000 times cheaper than SMS. Saya now joins Mxit and Zing as the liekley alternatives to Whatsapp for Africans.

Saya mobile beat Nandimobile to win the top prize at the AppCircus Mobile Competition held in Accra in 2011. This offers the national winners the opportunity to be at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona aside the cash prize of $1,400 and an i-Pad 2 . It’s been revealed that Saya has been selected among 20 other mobile developers to pitch at the Mobile Premier Awards.

After working on the app for weeks, the co-founders, Robert Lamptey and Badu Boahene will tonight at 6pm at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Saya Mobile will unveil its mobile app during what they call a ‘Techie Soft Launch’. The app currently supports Android, Blackberry, J2ME platforms.

    Congrats to the developers of this app.
    the app is not installing on my nokia 5130.it just gives me ‘application error’ message and thats all.
